However, “Caledon OPP Community Mobilization Unit officers quickly unplugged that plan, arresting the driver a short distance away,” provincial police said on Facebook.

“The vehicle was grounded after an inspection found major defects. Both driver and company have been charged!”

A 22-year-old truck driver from Brampton is facing charges of careless driving, operating an unsafe commercial vehicle, failing to remain and failing to report damage after the vehicle was spotted on Tuesday around 1:10 p.m.

KITCHENER RIDESHARE PASSENGER INJURED

Waterloo Regional Police say a rideshare driver, a 38-year-old Kitchener man, has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm after a passenger was run over.

Cops say on Saturday, around 10 p.m., a man was entering the rear seat of a rideshare vehicle in the area of King and Columbia Sts.

Police said the driver began to move the vehicle before the passenger was fully inside and, as a result, the passenger fell to the ground and the vehicle ran over his leg.

Emergency services took the 25-year-old male victim to a local hospital where he was treated for a broken ankle.

NIAGARA MAN CHARGED IN INDECENT ACTS

A 68-year-old Lincoln, Ont. man has been charged with two counts of indecent acts by Niagara police.

Niagara Regional Police said on Monday they responded to a call in the area of St. Volodymyr Cresc. in Beamsville, Ont., and learned that on two separate occasions, a male suspect had allegedly committed an indecent act and exposed himself while being within public view from the roadway.

On Tuesday, 67-year-old Colin Cobb was arrested and charged.

Detectives believe there could be additional victims and are asking anyone with information related to this incident to contact police at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009747.

Residents and businesses in the area of St. Volodymyr Cresc. are asked to review any video surveillance footage and contact police if the suspect is observed.
