A resource centre worker has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a teen client.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Sex Crimes Unit received information about a sexual assault that occurred between the employee and a teen client in February 2026. 

The male employee befriended the teen client at the resource centre in Winnipeg in February 2026. The suspect forged a relationship with the teen. Eventually, the suspect used social media to lure the teen over to his residence and sexually assaulted the teen. 

The male was arrested on May 20, at a residence in the 300 block of Boyd Avenue. 

The 38-year-old male faces charges of sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication. 

He was released on an Undertaking
