Let’s get something straight: China is not our friend, and the fact that Mark Carney continues to allow it to gain more influence in our country and government is beyond disturbing and reprehensible.

Now it’s trying to dictate how our politicians are to conduct themselves. I refer to the recent trip to Taiwan by Conservative MP Michael Chong. Mr. Chong is right: We are a sovereign nation and won’t let other countries tell us what we can do or who we can talk to.

Now we’re hearing that the RCMP needs permission from China to divulge the details in an MOU regarding their agreement with China’s Ministry of Public Security.

We aren’t just broken — we’re no longer Canadian.

I don’t consider my speaking up about the absolute injustice I see from this Liberal government on an ongoing basis as “chronically complaining.” The alternative is to simply bury my head in the sand and say nothing so they are free to push their propaganda.

It is obvious they are becoming totalitarian with their proposed bills and policies. And, yes, I still say we do not live in a true democracy. Look at how the NDP propped up the Liberals. Look at all the floor-crossers. I could go on and on.

SCARY AI FUTURE

I fear for my grandchildren, knowing they totally embrace today’s technology. I wonder how they’ll determine what is fact from fiction in the future due to artificial intelligence (AI) and its ability to supercharge cyberattacks and spread disinformation.

Nations worldwide worry AI will affect democracy, causing citizens to question anything presented to them.

Sadly, due to AI, the youth of today will enjoy little peace of mind in the future, having to constantly decipher what is truthful versus fictitious.
