Edmonton police say a motorcycle rider is in hospital after a collision with a pickup truck on Friday morning.

EPS says officers responded to reports of a collision near 50 Street and 41 Avenue SW, just before noon on May 22.

Reports indicated that a 2011 Ford F150 was stopped at the intersection waiting for a line of traffic at a red light, when a 2024 Harley Davidson motorcycle drove into the rear of the truck.

Paramedics also responded to the scene and took the 56-year-old motorcycle rider to hospital with significant but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup did not report any injuries.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing, but speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
