Vancouver-based Coastal City Ballet celebrates its 15th anniversary by bringing a full-length, traditional version of Swan Lake to Surrey on Friday, June 5.

The 7 p.m. show at Surrey Arts Centre’s 402-seat Main Stage promises “a breathtaking anniversary tribute to classical ballet at its finest,” says a post on Youtube with rehearsal video.

It’s a chance to experience “the grandeur of four acts, lavish hand-painted sets, exquisite costumes, and the iconic White and Black Swan pas de deux, performed as this timeless masterpiece was meant to be seen.”

Coastal City has staged several shows in Surrey over the years including Swan Lake (in 2016, 2019 and now), The Sleeping Beauty (2023), Giselle (2017), Coppélia (2025) and others.

The “pre-professional” ballet company provides post-secondary age dancers with professional-level performance, training, and mentorship opportunities in preparation for a career in dance.

Company director Andrea Allen leads “well-known and highly respected dance professionals from throughout North & South America, Europe and Asia,” says a post on coastalcityballet.com, where tickets for the Surrey show are sold for $75.25 (adults) and $67.25 (seniors, students), or call 604-501-5580.
