A 49-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon in Winnipeg’s Crestview neighbourhood.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on Cavalier Drive, just north of Hillary Crescent.
Winnipeg Police Service Traffic Division investigators say the preliminary investigation indicates a 2020 Hyundai Kona was travelling northbound on Cavalier Drive at a high rate of speed when it collided with a stationary water truck.

Emergency crews extracted the driver from the vehicle, but he suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the water truck was taken to hospital in stable condition.
The family of the deceased driver have been notified, and an autopsy is pending.
The Traffic Division continues to investigate.
