A man was hospitalized with critical injuries following a robbery inside a Scarborough apartment building late Saturday.

Toronto Police said officers responded to the Kingston Rd.-Lawrence Ave. area shortly after 11 p.m. for an “unknown trouble” call inside an apartment building on one of the floors.

“The caller had found a man lying on the floor in a hallway,” Toronto Police spokesperson Viktor Sarudi told the Toronto Sun. “Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, who was suffering from serious injuries.”
The man was transported to hospital, where his injuries were determined to be life-threatening.
Investigators said that a woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and robbery. Cops said a second suspect remains outstanding. A description for that suspect was not immediately available.

A 30-year-old Hamilton man is facing a slew of weapon charges after a loaded firearm was recovered following an incident in Kitchener overnight.

Waterloo Regional Police said officers responded at 12:20 a.m. to the King and Cedar Sts. area for reports of a man brandishing a gun inside a nearby establishment.
Officers arrested the man and seized a loaded handgun and pellet gun.
No injuries were reported.
The man was charged with point firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts each of carrying a concealed weapon and firearm or weapon: possession contrary to prohibition order.
