A busy Langley intersection will be closed again over part of the coming weekend as another portion of the elevated guideway is hoisted into place.
The Surrey-Langley SkyTrain Project announced that 203 Street and Industrial Avenue will be closed to drivers starting at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, to 10 p.m. on Monday, June 1.
A stretch of the guideway approaching the future station site on 203 Street is being built by the station contractor. Segments of the guideway are being hauled into place by cranes. One was installed recently over the Victoria Day long weekend, and several on the approach to the station are to be added this spring.
During the closure, two-way traffic will be in effect on Industrial Avenue between 201A Street and 203 Street, and access to local businesses and homes will be maintained.
When the work is concluded, Industrial Avenue will return to being a one-way street with only eastbound traffic, as it has been for several months to accommodate the construction.
