Trocadero Pizza & Steak House served its final meals over the weekend.

It wasn’t the Last Supper in the biblical sense, but a decades-old East Vancouver dining institution served its final meals over the weekend.

The Trocadero Pizza & Steak House closed its doors Sunday night after 57 years of serving up Greek and Italian meals on Nanaimo Street.

The owners announced on social media that a relocation was in the offing in early March, though a new location has yet to be announced.

“The kindness we’ve received has been deeply moving and truly overwhelming,” the owners previously said on Instagram. “We are incredibly grateful.”

In another post, the owners said they had found themselves in an “unfortunate” situation with their landlord.

“As of June, the building — one our family owned for many years and sold three years ago — will officially change title,” reads that post. “At the time of sale, a three-year lease was established while plans for redevelopment were underway.”
