A motorcyclist has died in hospital following a Monday afternoon collision involving three vehicles in Scarborough, Toronto police say.
Police say they received reports of a multi-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in the area of Markham Road and Nugget Avenue just before 2 p.m. Monday.
A 53-year-old woman driving a Ford Fusion made a left turn to enter a driveway on Nugget Avenue and struck a 42-year-old man riding a motorcycle in the opposite direction, police said in a news release Tuesday.
The woman then drove into a stationary third vehicle in the driveway with a 25-year-old man inside, police said. All three vehicles remained on the scene.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was pronounced dead later that evening, police said.
The 53-year-old woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries, while the 25-year-old was uninjured.
The collision is now under investigation and police are asking anyone with dash cam or security video of the area or incident to contact them.
Roads in the area were temporarily closed Monday, police said.
