Nearly $16.5 million in federal investment will support 13 Ontario companies and organizations advancing Canadian-made AI technologies, innovation and market adoption

Canada is strengthening its position as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI), with the Greater Toronto Area emerging as a key hub for innovation, investment, and commercialization. Backed by federal support and a growing network of research institutions, startups, and technology firms, the region is accelerating AI adoption while helping Canadian companies scale and bring advanced technologies to market.

The momentum comes into focus during Toronto Tech Week, a showcase of the region’s innovation ecosystem that highlights Canada’s expanding role in AI development and its economic impact through job creation, business growth, and digital transformation.

“Artificial intelligence is a key driver of Canada’s economic future, and the Greater Toronto Area is at the forefront of turning innovation into real‑world impact,” said Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
