A new driver had his high-performance car impounded after he was caught driving at 99 km/h in a 50 zone in Langley earlier this month.

On Friday, May 22, RCMP officers doing proactive patrols near 208 Street and 88 Avenue in the Walnut Grove neighbourhood pulled over the driver of a white Audi S4.

The driver was given four tickets. In addition to excessive speed, he was ticketed for having tinted windows, improperly displaying licence plates, and not having a new-driver’s N displayed.

The vehicle was towed away.

On social media, the Langley RCMP advised drivers that if they were trying to set personal bests, they should save it for a race track, not Langley streets.
