Canada’s first-ever floating futsal pitch is coming to Toronto’s waterfront just in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

From June 11 to July 19, Sport Chek is hosting a free interactive soccer experience at Harbourfront Centre, located at 235 Queens Quay.

Called Sport Chek Harbourfront FC, festivities will include the nearly 130-foot floating futsal pitch, along with retail pop-ups and immersive fan experiences “designed to bring people closer to the game in new and unexpected ways.”

“Soccer fandom in Canada is continuing to grow, and we know fans are looking for new ways to connect with the sport beyond simply watching from the sidelines,” said Scott Dowding, president at Sport Chek.

“Sport Chek Harbourfront FC is about creating an experience that unites cultures, teams and communities, while giving fans a chance to be part of the excitement.”

For those hoping to get out onto the water to play, bookings are now open online.

More FIFA fun in Toronto

Aside from the floating futsal pitch, North America’s largest shipping container market will host Adidas’ Home of Soccer Toronto at Stackt Market from June 11 to July 19.

Taking place at 28 Bathurst St., the celebration is set to be an “unforgettable fan experience” with athlete appearances, on-site activations, an Adidas retail pop-up, and official FIFA World Cup watch parties.

Matches will be shown in an outdoor space with a giant 13.5-foot by 24-foot screen and entry to the space will be on a first-come, first-served basis. No advance sign-up is required.

The free hub will open each day at 11 a.m. and will be closed on Mondays.

Running for 22 days from June 11 to July 19, Toronto’s FIFA Fan Festival will bring football enthusiasts together at both the Fort York National Historic Site, along with The Bentway.

Fans can expect cultural showcases and community programming that celebrates the tournament’s global stature and Toronto’s diverse communities, according to the City of Toronto.

And while free tickets have been quickly snagged, paid entry is still available online.

FIFA World Cup in Toronto

In June, Toronto is set to host six World Cup games at BMO Field — now temporarily dubbed Toronto Stadium for the tournament.

This will include the first-ever men’s FIFA World Cup match on Canadian soil on June 12, featuring Canada vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina at 3 p.m. Plus, the city will also hold a round of 32 match on July 2.
