Surrey’s ‘Hot Rod Saturday’ to return to Cloverdale Fairgrounds

Published 9:30 pm Wednesday, May 27, 2026

Hot Rod Saturday is back.

Hundreds of hot rods and vintage rides will roll outside Elements Casino on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds July 11.

It will be a busy day as the 10th annual Hot Rod show will run right next to the National Truck Show being held at the adjacent B.C. Vintage Truck Museum.

Walt Wagner, the organizer for Hot Rod Saturday, told the Cloverdale Reporter visitors can expect to see more than 500 “amazing” vehicles.

“(Visitors) will be impressed by the types of vehicles they see,” Wagner said. “Everything from classics to hot rods to trucks, vintage vehicles, you name it. It’s a one-of-a-kind show and it’s going to be so amazing.”

Hosted by the British Columbia Hot Rod Association (BCHRA), Wagner said the show attracts more than 500 vehicles and all vehicles are welcome.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with registration for show automobiles opening at 9 a.m. (Registration is $20 each.)

Automobile types on display will fall under the categories: classic, collectibles, vintage, hot rod cars, and trucks.

Wagner said the event will feature: a 50/50 draw, a BBQ and beer garden, vendors, and—new this year—a unique raffle draw.

“We’re raffling off a 1976 Sterling, not at this event, but we’ll be selling raffle tickets for it,” said Wagner. “This will be the first time we’re going to show this vehicle.”

Wagner said it’ll be $10 a ticket and 3 for $25. The draw won’t be held on Hot Rod Saturday. The raffle is a nearly year-long event raising money for Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association. The draw will be held Nov. 3. (To buy tickets before or after Hot Rod Saturday, visit bchra.ca.)

The BCHRA also has 15 vendors booked so far. The vendors will all be selling car-related items.

Organizers expect to draw about 5,000 people during the six-hour event.

Admission is free and trophies—19 of them—will be presented at 2:30 p.m.

Wagner added that anyone can sponsor a Trophy for $100 and they will get their name on it. Email Wagner for more info: wagnerwk@shaw.ca.
