The PGA Tour is undergoing significant schedule changes – and the new calendar is starting to take shape…
The jigsaw pieces are beginning to fall into place at the swanky Ponte Vedra offices of the PGA Tour.
New CEO Brian Rolapp is leading a significant restructuring process as the PGA Tour heads towards a more streamlined model from the 2027 season and beyond. The biggest overhaul is set for 2028 – with a schedule that is likely to be split fields between “Track 1” and “Track 2” events. But change is already afoot and the Sports Business Journal has reported some more clues about what next year’s calendar could look like – with notable changes made to the early season Florida swing.
With some tournament dates already confirmed, it is therefore possible to start piecing together what a new look schedule will look like next year…

So what’s actually changing?
New Torrey Pines event
It has already been confirmed that Hawaii won’t be on the 2027 schedule, so say goodbye to the dreamy views at Kapulua in early January. The season is expected to start on January 21 at the American Express, and is likely to be followed a week later by a yet-to-be confirmed tournament at Torrey Pines.
Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Pebble Beach, which will also host the US Open in 2027, will have a new date for its annual Pro-Am. It is switching with the WM Phoenix Open, perhaps so the tournament doesn’t clash with the Super Bowl.
Cadillac Championship
The PGA Tour’s return to Donald Trump’s Blue Monster course at Doral lacked fireworks this year, and the Cadillac Championship is now expected to move from May to March in the calendar, one week before The Players. The new date also avoids a clash with the Miami Grand Prix. As a result, the CJ Cup Bryon Nelson will take the former date of the Cadillac in early May.
Arnold Palmer Invitational
The famous event at Bay Hill will now be staged immediately after The Players, whereas it usually preceded the flagship event at Sawgrass HQ. It has created a big three-week stretch in the build-up to the Masters.
Valspar Championship
As part of what was surely a headache-inducing switch up, the Valspar Championship at the Innisbrook resort has also moved from March to May and will be staged on the former date of the Truist Championship.
PGA Championship
The Truist at Quail Hollow preceded the PGA Championship in 2026 and that will be the case again next year, though the two tournaments will be held a week later on the schedule. The PGA Championship is taking place at the PGA of America headquarters in Frisco.
The rest of the schedule beyond the second major of the season hasn’t been pieced together entirely, but we do know the US Open will be played at Pebble Beach from June 17-20 and the Open Championship is set for St Andrews from July 15-18.
