Alberta RCMP are investigating after around $20,000 worth of diesel fuel was stolen from a site on Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

The incident was reported to RCMP just after 6 a.m. on May 28. The report said that fuel had been stolen and that additional mischief had occurred at a site near Highway 16A in Acheson, just west of Edmonton.

It is believed that between 7:30 p.m. on May 27 and 5:30 a.m. on May 28, a dually truck was driven onto the site, before multiple people exited the vehicle and allegedly entered an excavator, which they used to tear open a trailer containing equipment.

It is believed that around $20,000 in diesel fuel was stolen, as well as around $5,000 in damages to equipment on the site.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact RCMP at 825-220-7267 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
