Ross Chastain – No. 1 Busch Light Country Chevrolet

Ross Chastain is bringing the rhythm to the track with a new spin on the Busch Light Country paint scheme—a tribute to the genre that goes hand-in-hand with NASCAR weekends. Inspired by classic country’s acoustic roots, the car features a weathered woodgrain texture across the hood.

Q: Nashville Superspeedway is a place that’s special to you as a race winner there. They unveiled that trophy just a couple weeks ago in downtown Nashville. That has to be special for you?

Ross Chastain: “Having a guitar at home and that guitar hangs proudly on the wall and getting to hold the 2026 version of it is really cool. This year it is actually hand painted. Mine’s a wrap from a couple years ago. So I love the detail work and the hand painting. I’m excited to go fight for another guitar. I still don’t know how to play it and I’m honest with everybody and myself, I’m never going to learn… I have one cool picture standing on top of the car and I look like I’m just hammering that guitar, but yeah, I’m never gonna actually learn.”

Q: What is it like night racing versus day racing at Nashville? How is it different?

Ross Chastain: “The surface changes with sunlight, the rubber and the oils. When the sun’s shining, it’ll have no grip. And whenever the sun goes down, when we won this race a couple of years ago in 2023, as soon as the sun went down, the very lap it happened, I came off turn 2 onto the backstretch and my car had a different level of grip, more grip than it had the previous 100 laps in a row. We would not have won that race if it would have been during the day.”

Connor Zilisch – No. 88 Red Bull Chevrolet

Connor Zilisch will be making his 17th career NASCAR Cup Series start this weekend, marking his first Cup appearance at Nashville Superspeedway.

Q: What is your approach to Nashville Superspeedway this weekend with the short track package?

Connor Zilisch: “It’s kind of another unknown, similar to what we’ve had at Dover, Bristol, and Darlington, all those tracks where we’ve had the low downforce package with the high horsepower. I feel like we’ve been really good at those racetracks. Nashville is a unique racetrack, with it being concrete and oddly shaped, plus there’s going to be a bunch of resin put down. It’s just a unique racetrack that I enjoy going to.”

Q: You are going to be the spotter for Stefan Parsons at the Truck race on Friday night at Nashville?

Connor Zilisch: “It’s going to be a lot of fun experiencing something new. I’m glad that Stefan trusts me to do it. There’s a lot of guys who could probably do it better than me but it’s going to be cool to do that and learn what it’s like from a new perspective. I’ve spotted on road courses and at the Cup race at Indy, but leading the charge at the truck race at Nashville is going to be different.”

Shane van Gisbergen – No. 97 Tootsies Orchid Lounge Chevrolet

Shane van Gisbergen (SVG) will make his second career start at Nashville Superspeedway sporting the famous purple livery of Tootsies Orchid Lounge, the legendary downtown Nashville hotspot that has anchored lower Broadway since 1960.

Q: You’ve mentioned concrete tracks are more difficult for you. Why is that?

Shane van Gisbergen: “Well, I’ve never really driven on concrete before and the surface changes so much. The surface is so dynamic. Then, I know Ross won at Nashville a couple of years ago, but concrete tracks have sort of been a downfall for Trackhouse as a team. So just working on that together and seeing where we can improve is important as we go to those types of tracks.”

Q: You were so fun to watch during the Charlotte 600 last weekend. You led laps in the biggest and hardest race of the year. How did that feel?

Shane van Gisbergen: “When I took the lead from the 54 (Ty Gibbs), I might have cheered a little bit. I’m sure a lot of people will hear that on the in-car camera (laughs). But it was awesome! Our 11th place finish doesn’t show for it, it worked out different. It’s been good progression and I’ve got such a good group of people, not only at Trackhouse, but on the No. 97 car.”
