Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a fire in a two-storey rooming house Thursday night.
WFPS received a 911 call around 9:35 p.m. reporting the fire at a residential building in the 100 block of Austin Street North.
Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the building and contained the fire by 10:00 p.m.
“Initial reports indicated there may be a resident trapped in the building,” WFPS said. “Firefighters searched the structure and confirmed that all occupants had safely self-evacuated prior to their arrival.”
No injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates were not available.
