The stal̕əw̓asəm bridge will be closed in both directions from Friday night (May 29) at 9 p.m. to around 5 a.m. Monday (June 1).
The closure is needed for crews “to complete installation of the multi-use path overpass superstructure over the Bridge Connector and Royal Avenue on-ramp in New Westminster,” reads a Pattullo Bridge replacement news release. “Crews will also complete top lift paving of the multi-use path on the east side of the bridge, and milling and paving of King George Boulevard from the overspan on Scott Road to Bridgeview Drive.”
Drivers are encouraged to use the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridge during the closure. The N19 night bus will be rerouted over the Queensborough and Alex Fraser bridges.
The multi-use path on the east side is expected to open to pedestrians and cyclists in both directions on June 1.
Traffic updates and closures will be posted on drivebc.ca.
