Environment Canada has issued a yellow warning over the potential for severe thunderstorms overnight from May 28 and into Friday morning May 29.
According to the warning, a distburbance is moving across the Southern Interior, bringing with it favourable conditions for developing into severe thunderstorms with heavy rain.
These storms could bring localized rainfall of 10 to 20 mm and winds gusting up to 70 km/h. This sudden heavy rainfall carries the risk of flash floods, and reduced visibility.
Environment Canada also issued a warning and reminder for people to go indoors when a thunderstorm is in the area, due to the risk of lightning strikes.
