Justin Allgaier leads the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series heading into the 16th race of the season. He is coming off his worst finish of the season, allowing the field to close the gap in the Driver’s Championship points standings. Allgaier has three wins this season and seven top-four finishes to start the season. He is 145 points ahead of the rest of the field. Jessee Love, Corey Day, Sheldon Creed, and Brandon Jones round out the rest of the top five in points heading into the 16th race of the season.

This stop on the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series started in 2001 with a gap between 2012 and 2020 before returning. Allgaeir won last season for the second time since the Sports Illustrated Resorts 250 returned to the calendar.

In last season’s race, Allgaeir held off rookie Connor Zilisch, Sam Mayer, Creed, and Ross Chastain for the win. Allgaier also won this race in 2002, making him just the third driver to win on this track multiple times.

Carl Edwards (2007, 2011) and Kevin Harvick (2006, 2010) each won the Sports Illustrated Resorts 250 twice. Both won their races before the race was moved off the schedule. With a win this season, Allgaier would become the winning driver in the history of this race.
