NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Rain forced the cancellation of NASCAR Cup Series qualifying on Saturday at Nashville Superspeedway, putting Denny Hamlin on the pole for the Cracker Barrel 400.
With the session washed out by weather, the starting lineup was set per the NASCAR rulebook. Hamlin will start his No. 11 Progressive Insurance Toyota on the inside of the front row alongside Tyler Reddick in the No. 45 Pinnacle Toyota.
Daniel Suarez will start third in the No. 7 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet, sharing the second row with Christopher Bell in the No. 20 DeWalt Toyota. Kyle Larson and Ty Gibbs make up the third row, starting fifth and sixth, respectively. Ryan Blaney and William Byron will line up in row four.
After the rain arrived, NASCAR would dry the track allowing teams to complete their final practice session. Bell paced the field, navigating the 1.33-mile concrete oval with a top single-lap speed of 160.660 mph (29.802 seconds).
Ross Chastain, who holds the track race record at Nashville , was second fastest in practice at 160.542 mph. Hamlin was third fastest on the speed chart at 160.526 mph, followed by Gibbs at 159.947 mph
