VANCOUVER — Police in Surrey say the RCMP has taken over the investigation into a shooting that has left a male dead in that community.
Surrey Police Service says in a statement that it responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 138 Street and 62 Avenue around 12:22 a.m. on Sunday.
It says that when officers arrived, they found a male suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle, which had hit a power pole.
Police say that despite medical assistance from officers and paramedics, he was pronounced deceased on scene.
