Peel Regional Police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in Mississauga earlier this month.
Police were called to the area of Hurontario Street and Agnes Street on Tuesday, May 19, at approximately 12:15 p.m. following reports of a stabbing. Investigators allege that the victim and suspect became involved in a physical altercation in a nearby parking lot, during which the victim was stabbed.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Chay Wilson of Mississauga, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation by the Homicide Bureau, a Canada-wide warrant was issued for 28-year-old Jerome Edwards, who has no fixed address, on a charge of first-degree murder.
Police announced that Edwards was arrested on Friday, May 29, in the area of The Queensway and Kipling Avenue in Etobicoke. He was taken into custody and held pending a bail hearing.
