Afuri is inviting guests to enjoy bowls for $10.99 before shutting down at the end of the month.
A ramen restaurant that has drawn lines of customers at a busy Vancouver intersection is closing for good.
Afuri Vancouver took to social media over the weekend to announced the closure of its 2801 Main St. location.
“With a heavy heart, we’re announcing that AFURI Vancouver’s final day will be June 28,” reads a post on Instagram. “To everyone who came in for a bowl of yuzu ramen, brought friends, shared a meal with us, or made AFURI part of your Vancouver food journey — thank you. Your support has meant more to our team than we can put into words.”
Before the restaurant says goodbye, customers are invited for “one last bowl.”
“Enjoy $10.99 ramen until our final day,” the post continues. “Thank you, Vancouver, for every visit, every kind word, and every bowl shared with us.”
Canada’s first Afuri location opened in Richmond in 2019. A spokesperson tells Vancouver Is Awesome that storefront is closing as well.
Rising food costs has been a major issue facing the business, the spokesperson adds.
In addition to the discounted ramen, Afuri will be offering $2 off all drinks for the rest of the month.
With original locations in Japan, the franchise debuted in the U.S. in 2016, launching in Portland, Oregon. There are also Afuri locations in Texas, California, Toronto and Hong Kong.
