A lockdown at St. Monica Elementary School was lifted Tuesday afternoon, after the office received a threatening phone call, according to a spokesperson for the English Montreal School Board.
Dozens of police cars and ambulances were spotted outside the school in the Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough Tuesday afternoon.
Police searched the building shortly after lunch, according to Michael Cohen, spokesperson for the EMSB.
He did not provide further details on the nature of the threatening phone call.
Student pickup is being arranged by school staff, Cohen added.

A police investigation into the phone call is underway, according to Cohen. Montreal police said the lockdown was lifted after they searched the building and found nothing threatening.
