The North Shore Health Network says it has located a physician to cover the shift, so the emergency department will not be closed as earlier reported.

The emergency department at the Richards Landing site on St. Joseph Island will be closed for 24 hours this week due to physician shortages.
The North Shore Health Network says the emergency room will shut down at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 4. It’s not scheduled to reopen until 8 a.m. on Friday, June 5.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should still call 9-1-1. Ambulances will be re-routed.
