A 32-year-old Winnipeg man is dead following a crash west of Kenora.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says in a release that the crash happened on Highway 17 on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency crews were called around 1:45 p.m. to the scene west of Kenora.

The collision involved a semi truck travelling westbound, and an eastbound passenger vehicle.

Police say the 32-year-old Winnipeg man was travelling in the passenger vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

The highway was closed for several hours from the Manitoba/Ontario border to 15 km east to Rush Bay Road.
