Toronto police are appealing to the public for help identifying a man who was struck by a motorist while crossing the street in Forest Hill Sunday morning.
The fatal collision happened at about 1:20 a.m. near Old Park Road and Eglinton Avenue W., police said in a news release.
A man was crossing Eglinton Avenue when another man driving a Honda Accord struck him. The driver remained on the scene, where the pedestrian was pronounced dead.

A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Toronto’s west end. Emergency crews were called to the scene near Eglinton Avenue W. and Old Park Road early Sunday morning. As CBC’s Mercedes Gaztambide reports, residents in the area, as well as local councillors are expressing concerns about traffic in the neighbourhood and how it impacts pedestrian safety.
The victim is descibed as a Black man with a long grey beard and hair in long dreadlocks. He was roughly six feet tall, with a slim build.
The man was wearing a red toque and a black Adidas tracksuit with a German football logo over top a blue, hooded winter jacket.
Police have released a composite sketch of the man in hopes of identifying him. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
