PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh today said the Virbhadra Singh Foundation will organise a professional boxing championship, featuring boxers from six countries, as part of the celebrations to mark the birth anniversary of six-time Chief Minister late Virbhadra Singh on June 23.
Addressing a press conference here today, Singh said extensive arrangements were being made to mark the occasion. In addition to the international boxing championship, medical camps will be organised in Shimla and medical equipment will be distributed to needy individuals. Similar social welfare and healthcare-related activities will also be conducted in government hospitals in all districts of the state.
The minister said Virbhadra Singh dedicated his long political career to public service and the development of Himachal Pradesh. He said the objective of the commemorative events was to reach different sections of society while encouraging youth participation in sports.
