WNBA rookie Raven Johnson played a big role in the Indiana Fever‘s 83-71 win against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Thursday night. Johnson finished with five points, two rebounds, three assists and two steals, all while recording the highest plus-minus rating on the team at +15.
Johnson helped the Fever snap a two-game losing streak and earn a win to start the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup.
While Johnson’s performance was noteworthy, one storyline involving her that drew plenty of attention was her relationship with Reese. The two were seen sharing a moment and embracing before the game.
Johnson and Reese have a good relationship, stemming from their days competing at the SEC. As many fans know, Reese played for the LSU Tigers, while Johnson starred for the South Carolina Gamecocks.
When Johnson was drafted by the Fever, Reese was quick to react and celebrate her WNBA arrival.
