Air Canada is continuing a phased wind-down of its operations ahead of possible labour action. This follows a 72-hour strike notice and lock-out notice issued as part of contract negotiations between Air Canada and CUPE, the union representing its flight attendants.
If an agreement is not reached, a full disruption of Air Canada service could begin at 9:58 p.m. PT tonight (Friday, August 15) / 12:58 a.m. ET Saturday, August 16.
Air Canada passengers should not come to YVR unless they have a confirmed flight. Changes and cancellations are possible, and Air Canada will contact affected passengers directly by email or text. Please check your flight status and rebooking options at aircanada.com before coming to the airport.
YVR has increased terminal staffing to assist travellers, however the best source for up-to-date flight information is Air Canada directly. We will continue to share updates on our social channels and at yvr.ca.
