A barn fire in Osgoode resulted in a minor injury for an Ottawa firefighter on Friday night.

Ottawa Fire Services said the fire in the 4000 block of York’s Corners Road was reported by multiple 911 callers just after 8:30 p.m. on June 5.

The first fire crews to arrive at the scene confirmed that a large barn and an attached silo were fully involved with flames and heavy smoke.

Because that area of the city does not have fire hydrants, crews shuttled water to the scene from a nearby source.

The fire was declared under control at 9:45 p.m. An investigator was assigned to determine the cause and point of origin of the blaze.
