All levels of government are guilty of treating taxpayers like a bottomless pocket for them to pick. We pay municipal, provincial and federal taxes, and that’s supposed to go to infrastructure to begin with. So for Mayor Mark Sutcliffe to say that other levels of government need to help pay for infrastructure is laughable as there is only one taxpayer and we pay for everything at all levels.

Tell you what — and this goes for all levels of government — stop funding special-interest groups (if they want something, they can do their own fundraising, that way not everyone is stuck paying for things they don’t access); stop signing taxpayers up for insanely costly projects we don’t need, especially now with money being tight (Alto high-speed rail needs to be shut down immediately); and stop giving yourselves big salary boosts when we clearly aren’t getting anything for it (the Ontario legislature has shut down for 21 weeks, while the federal government is about to break for the summer and will not return until mid-September).

Liberals are the best. It is so great that we have a government in power that allows us to have the worst economy in the G7. And a huge round of applause to the supporters who keep electing them. Just keep doing that great job, Liberals, I still think there’s room to go further down the hole.
