Final Fantasy VII Revelation has been announced for Switch 2, and it will be a simultaneous release across all platforms. The title will release at some point in Spring 2027. While we still have a while to wait, series director Naoki Hamaguchi has been discussing the game in advance and sharing some juicy tidbits to tide us over.
These new details come from a couple of interview Hamaguchi did with GameSpark and RPG Site. Check out a summary of what was revealed below (h/t Genki):
the FVIII Revelation logo colors are a reference to the original logo, with the blue and green lights inspired by the world of FFVII
the Remake series key art featuring Cloud, Aerith and Sephiroth is a homage to the original PS1 discs
the snowboarding minigame will be in the Gold Saucer in FFVII Revelation
the devs have also prepared a stage in the story for snowboarding and the timing of it will be a pleasant surprise for players
FFVII Revelation will have more post-game content than Rebirth, including content that is stronger than the final boss battle
there will be a chapter select option
character outfits from FFVII Rebirth will be available from the start of FFVII Revelation, including Tifa’s swim suit
there is a priority skin system in Revelation so you can keep the FITS job abilities and still change into the different outfits
the key concept words for all 3 FFVII Remake titles have been revealed: Remake = Reunion, Rebirth = Bonds and Revelation = Resolve
Hamaguchi says we will have to wait and see if FFVII Revelation links to Advent Children
