Construction will take place along a 6.7-kilometre section on Ninth Line between Eglinton Avenue West and Derry Road West and is expected to be finished in 2027.

According to a release, the project includes several improvements including:
Widening the road from two lanes to four lanes, with two lanes in each direction.
Adding sidewalks, curbs and gutters, along with cycle tracks behind the roadway curb.
Improving storm drainage to help reduce flooding.
Adding new street lighting, transit stops, intersections and traffic signals.
Improving access to make it easier and safer for residents to access nearby parks, trails and Osprey Marsh.
Enhancing the culvert bridge with better waterproofing and a wider road.
This project also helps facilitate more than 3,400 housing units and will help turn Mississauga’s last remaining greenfield into transit-friendly and sustainable neighbourhood, the release adds.
The project is partly funded by the Government of Ontario’s $20 million investment through the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program’s Housing-Enabling Core Servicing Stream.
