Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is looking to rebound from the most disappointing season of his career.
After making seven straight appearances in the AFC title game, Kansas City stumbled to a 6-11 record and missed the playoffs entirely.
Mahomes is also working his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered in December.
Naturally, he would love to be ready to start by Week 1.
“That’s always going to be the goal,” Mahomes told reporters last month.
While Mahomes isn’t back to 100 percent just yet, he was present for OTAs, participating in drills, and, reportedly, looking good while doing it.
“Despite the bulky brace on his left leg, he has reportedly looked sharp while going through seven-on-seven drills during voluntary workouts,” The Athletic’s Mike Jones wrote.
Being back on the field for OTAs is a big early win for Mahomes, who is looking to return to the playoffs and who should be considered the early front-runner for Comeback Player of the Year.
