There’s a great reason to go to school on a Saturday evening in South Surrey this weekend.
Saint John Paul II Academy is hosting God’s Creation by Banovich — an art exhibition, book signing, and fundraiser featuring internationally recognized wildlife artist and photographer John Banovich — this Saturday, June 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The evening will showcase 10 of Banovich’s limited-edition framed wildlife pieces, 60 signed copies of his coffee-table book BANOVICH, live ambient piano, and the opportunity to meet the artist in person.
The evening also includes a personal multimedia presentation by Banovich — three decades of stories from the field, with time for questions, a SJPII release noted.
Also a fundraiser in support of the SJPII Academy Bursary Program, every art and book purchase at the event contributes 20 per cent directly to the Academy, supporting families seeking a Catholic education at SJPII.
Admission is free, and all are welcome.
“The event will certainly be a special evening of art, faith, culture, music, and community!” the release said.
Saint John Paul II Academy is located at 2358 182 Street in South Surrey.
