LONG POND, Pa. — Justin Allgaier will look to continue his absolute stranglehold on the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series when the garage unloads for Saturday’s MillerTech Battery 250 at Pocono Raceway.
Allgaier enters the weekend boasting a massive 179-point lead over second place in the championship standings, a margin larger than the gap separating second from 11th. The JR Motorsports veteran has already compiled four victories, 11 top-five finishes, and six stage wins through 16 races this season. Allgaier also holds the all-time series records at Pocono for both laps led (129) and stage wins (4).
Allgaier’s success has anchored a historic stretch for JR Motorsports. The organization has placed at least one car in the top 10 in 73 consecutive races, matching the second-longest streak in series history. JRM has already won 10 of the season’s first 16 races utilizing five different drivers.
While Allgaier chases another trophy, series veteran Jeremy Clements is set to capture a piece of history. When Clements takes the green flag on Saturday, he will make his 546th career start, tying Kenny Wallace for the most all-time appearances in series history.
The veteran contingent will have to hold off a fierce wave of rookie talent, led by Hendrick Motorsports prodigy Corey Day. The rookie sensation has already earned two victories this season at Dover and Talladega despite having no prior experience at either track, and he will look to repeat that magic in his first career start on Pocono’s three distinct corners.
