We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with our main FM antenna at the Kenmount Hill transmitter site in St. John’s. As a result, we are temporarily broadcasting using our backup antenna. Because this antenna is lower on the tower and running at reduced power, you may experience a weaker signal or static in some areas.
Crews will continue to troubleshoot the issue over the coming days to get us back to full power as quickly as possible.
This may affect listeners tuning in on the following frequencies:
CBC Radio One (88.5 FM)
CBC Music (106.9 FM)
Radio-Canada ICI PREMIÈRE (105.9 FM)
Radio-Canada ICI MUSIQUE (101.9 FM)
You can still hear CBC Radio One at full power on the AM dial at 640 AM.
How to listen to CBC Radio One during service interruptions:
Download the CBC News App and listen to live radio broadcastsHead to CBC Listen to catch live radio or listen to on-demand audio programmingListen to live programming on CBC Lite, a low-bandwidth version of our website
We appreciate your patience as we work to get back to full power.
CBC/Radio-Canada is committed to ensuring we support our listeners through this transmission signal issue to ensure you can continue to access great local and national CBC radio content.
