Stellar Blade dev on bringing the game to Nintendo Switch 2, asked about bringing over Stellar Blade: Bloodrain

Stellar Blade developer ShiftUp has shared a few words about the just-announced Nintendo Switch 2 port and responded to a fan inquiry about Stellar Blade: Bloodrain.

Stellar Blade will be arriving on Switch 2 in 2026 as revealed during this week’s Nintendo Direct. Edouard Akopcan, head of publishing at ShiftUp, said that the announcement was “a huge deal for our self-publishing ambitions” and is “a first step towards serving as many fans as we can”.

Akopcan’s full comments:

“Being able to announce a new platform (NS2) after being exclusive to PS5 is a huge deal for our self-publishing ambitions. It’s a first step towards serving as many fans as we can, but it will take some time for us to build the structure we need to make it happen.”

In the same thread, Akopcan was asked about the possibility of Stellar Blade: Bloodrain on Nintendo Switch 2. The company just announced the follow-up last week.

Rather than giving a direct reply, Akopcan asked his own question. He wrote: “Would GTA VI run on a Switch 2 device?”

Make of that what you will. Right now ShiftUp is clearly noncommittal about a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Stellar Blade: Bloodrain, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
