Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a second person with first-degree murder in the disappearance and death of Robert Prevost east of Ottawa last year.
Prevost, a 63-year-old from Clarence-Rockland, had last been seen in February 2025 and was reported missing the following month. His body was pulled from the Ottawa River that May, sparking a homicide investigation.
Last week, OPP said they had arrested and charged 51-year-old Luc Decarie from St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Que., with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit a murder, and indignity to a body.
On Friday, OPP said that after further investigation, and with the help of the Gatineau Police Service, they arrested and charged 37-year-old Jessica St. Michael with first-degree murder and indignity to a body.
She was due to appear in court Friday.
OPP said several units were involved in the investigation including canine, aviation, underwater and SAVE (Snowmobile, ATV, Vessel Enforcement) teams. The investigation is ongoing.
