Civic election forums in Surrey, White Rock booked months before voting day

Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade has already booked a series of all-candidate forums well ahead of the civic election this fall.
Municipal all-candidates meetings in Surrey and White Rock are planned on four dates in September and October, the business organization announced June 12.
Civic elections will be held across B.C. on Saturday, Oct. 17.
“These events will bring together candidates, the business community, and residents for meaningful discussions on issues shaping Surrey’s future,” SWRBOT says.
“As two of the fastest growing communities in British Columbia, Surrey and White Rock face important decisions related to business competitiveness, infrastructure development, housing, and public safety. The forums are designed to help voters make informed decisions by providing a platform for open discussion and engagement.”
Forums in White Rock are Sept. 21 (for council candidates) and Sept. 22 (mayor), 5:30 p.m. start at White Rock Community Centre.
The Surrey-focused forums are Oct. 6 (council) and Oct. 7 (mayor) at Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel, also 5:30 p.m.
