Man charged in 2 Surrey bank robberies

A 22-year-old man has been charged with allegedly robbing two banks in Surrey in early June.
The first alleged bank robbery occurred on June 6, around 10:50 a.m., near 104 Avenue and King George Boulevard. The man allegedly threatened bank staff with a weapon and left the bank with the money. There were no reported injuries. Police could not find the suspect.
Two days later, on June 8, around 11 a.m. a man walked into a bank near 128 Street and 96 Avenue and allegedly threatened the staff with a weapon. He left the bank with the money, and there were no reported injuries. The suspect could not be located, police said.
Surrey Police, with the help of Integrated Forensics Identification Services and the Real Time Intelligence Centre (RTIC) were able to identify the suspect and arrested him on June 9, 2026.
Gregory Roca Bates Pedro was charged with two counts of robbery on June 10 and remains in custody until his next court appearance on June 15.
