Their name might be the Ottawa RedBlacks, but the predominant colour of the team’s new uniforms is neither of those.

The Canadian Football League team based in the nation’s capital unveiled their new “White on White” uniforms on Monday, June 15, which they say “celebrates the city’s rich football history while paying tribute to the fans and community that fuel the team every day.”

The new uniform represents a blank canvas for the next chapter of Ottawa football, one built on generations of tradition, pride and community support.

Combining tradition with a modern, clean aesthetic, the new white uniform embodies the spirit of Ottawa football: resilient, passionate and united. As we progress through the 12th season since professional football returned to the nation’s capital, the jersey serves as a powerful reminder that while generations may change, the pride of Ottawa football remains.

The most prominent features on the white base of the jersey are the red and black stripes that go over each shoulder. These mirror the striping found on the black home jerseys that the RedBlacks introduced in 2024. A black “R” logo sits on each sleeve.

Numbers on the front and back of the jersey are red with black outlines, and a red “OTTAWA” wordmark sits above the front number. Names on the back are one-coloured red.

“This jersey reflects everything that we cherish about makes REDBLACKS football unique: tradition, pride, and an unwavering connection to our fans. When we set out to design this uniform, we wanted to create something that honoured our history while representing who we are today. Every detail tells part of that story but most importantly, this uniform is to connect and honour our fans across generations who continue to help us write the next chapter of Ottawa football.”

The pants that go with the jersey are also white, with red and black stripes down the sides that match the stripes on the shoulders.

The white uniforms were photographed in Monday’s announcement with the same black helmets that the RedBlacks wear with their black jerseys. The black shells have a white “R” logo on each side and red and white striping down the middle.

Though the white uniforms will primarily be worn on the road, the RedBlacks will debut them at home on Saturday, June 20, when they host the Toronto Argonauts at TD Place for their Whiteout Game. Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game and wave white rally towels. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast on TSN.
