The much-anticipated action-comedy ‘Dear Students’, directed by George Philip Roy and Sandeep Kumar, has stirred excitement with the release of its quirky teaser. Featuring leading stars Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara, the teaser dropped on Friday, drawing instant reactions from fans and cinephiles alike.
Sharing the teaser on his official X handle, actor Nivin Pauly wrote: “‘Dear Students’ official teaser is out. A film by @GeorgePhilipRoy & @Sandeepkumark1p, with the amazing #Nayanthara and a batch of newcomers as #DearStudents — happy to have joined the journey!”
The teaser kicks off with a humorous exchange between Nivin Pauly’s character, Hari, and Nayanthara. Mistaking her for a customer, Hari begins describing the various dishes available at his bakery. However, Nayanthara quickly clarifies that she’s there to discuss something personal, requesting him to sit down.
Misinterpreting her intentions, Hari eagerly sits beside her. Nayanthara, catching on to his assumption, delivers a sarcastic zinger: “Why did you stop with just sitting on the chair? You could’ve sat on my lap.”Embarrassed and realising his blunder, Hari mutters, “Straight on the face!” Turning to an elderly man nearby, he tries to excuse himself, saying, “We need to talk something personal. Please step aside.”
To his surprise, the man bluntly replies, “We are cops.”The teaser subtly reveals that Nayanthara plays a police officer, and the storyline centres around a group of school students. While the film promises plenty of laughs, it also hints at some high-octane action sequences.
On the technical front, Anend C Chandran–Shinoz handles cinematography, while Justin Varghese and Sibi Mathew Alex compose the music. The background score is also by Sibi Mathew Alex. Lal Krishna takes charge of editing, and costume design is by Melwy J and Mashar Hamsa.
