ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Runners in the River Arts District (RAD) had the chance not only to exercise but also to support local artists at the RAD Half Marathon and 10K.
The race included a half-marathon and 10K distances, with the course beginning near Pack Square Park and continuing through parts of downtown Asheville and the RAD.

The founder of IDAPH events, Daphne Kirkwood, says the event is a good way to support the RAD post-Helene.
“It’s a great time of year to be exercising and to be racing, also supporting the rad foundation. You know we got hit hard with Hurricane Helene and especially the River Arts District and so this event specifically is helping that community,” Kirkwood said.

All proceeds from the event will go to the RAD Artists Foundation.

IDAPH’s next race is called the Bark and Bolt and will be held in Hendersonville on Saturday, August 1.
