For two days this week, mowers and pest control products will give way to a herd of about 50 goats that will maintain the grounds at cemetery in Brampton, Ont.
InBrampton reports the goats are part of a pilot project to help manage vegetation in a sustainable and more environmentally friendly manner.
At both the Brampton cemetery and another in Pickering, the goats will help to control invasive plant growth, reduce overgrowth and support native vegetation.
The approach is intended to improve soil health and biodiversity over the long term.
