Barely half a year since its premiere, smash hockey hit Heated Rivalry already has a parody musical, and now it’s coming to Montreal.
Just for Laughs has announced that its 2026 edition, taking place from July 15 to 26, will include a three-night run of Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody. The off-Broadway show has already premiered at the Culture Club in New York.
The production is directed by Canadian-born/NYC-based artist Alan Kliffer, with a book and songs by Dylan MarcAurele. Jay Armstrong Johnson and Jimin Moon play Ilya and Shane, respectively.
HR: The Unauthorized Musical Parody will run from July 17 to 19, with two showings per day at Espace St-Denis. Watch a trailer for the show below.
Other new additions to JFL Montreal’s 2026 lineup include Rafi Bastos and Maria Bamford, while Nurse John and Chris Flemming have added second shows. Previously confirmed performers include Jerry Seinfeld, Weird Al Yankovic, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Joel Kim Booster and more.
