A construction worker was injured Thursday morning after falling into formwork and being impaled by a steel rod at a construction site in Kirkland.
Montreal firefighters responded to the incident around 10 a.m. at the construction site on Brunswick Blvd. across from Syrah St.
The construction site is for the future Lacey Green Village development, a large residential project.
The worker suffered abdominal injuries after being impaled by the rod, the fire department said.
“The individual was conscious and in stable condition,” said Kevin Francoeur, a section chief with the Montreal fire department.
A technical rescue team carried out the evacuation before transferring the worker into the care of Urgences-Santé paramedics.
